Early start at 8.45am and walking into the packed room full of stunning models it soon became very clear that today was going to be a very busy and exciting day.
Friday 5th August , the very first Africa Fashion Week and Real Hair By Clara were the very proud official hair stylists for the event across the weekend. With the help of ‘Heavenly Hair & Scalp’ stylists we were looking forward to creating some fabulous and glamorous looks perfect for the runway. Although a very early start, there was no time for sleepy eyes as preparation needed to be on point with over 30 models to style before the first afternoon show. The room was transformed and straighteners and tongs were plugged into every available socket. It was hands on from here now.
The stylists did well to complete looks designed by our CEO Clara which were suited perfectly to complement each individual model. Our original Real Hair By Clara design of the Flexi Braid was implemented on a number of looks across the event and proved very popular amongst the visitors as well as the models. (Hear what the models had to say in their interviews later this week!)
Whilst busy preparing the hair and the models for the show, the main exhibition room upstairs was also pretty hectic. Members of the team were working hard to prepare the stand ready to show visitors exactly what Real Hair by Clara has to offer. Among the large selection of our great quality hair were samples of 100% Virgin India Hair, 100% Brazilian Curly and Remy Clip in Extensions. We also had a large selection of our original Flexi Braid designs which received lots of interest from the visitors especially after seeing them on the catwalk!

Throughout the day there were three different shows featuring some of the best up and coming designers. Each show was packed out with many spectators standing. Many collections celebrated bright and vibrant colours with traditional African descent and style. Extravagance and glam were implemented across many collections doing well to astound the audience and the press. Africa fashion Week was without a doubt an extremely popular event and a great success. A great opportunity for people to come together to celebrate a culture which is rich in colour, extravagance and tradition. Visitors thrived upon being able to enjoy a fashion catwalk show as well as browse and purchase products that were included in the show itself. As official stylists for the event, we are very proud and very pleased with its outcome and success. Many thanks again to Heavenly Hair & Scalp and to our hard working team for all their fantastic efforts and support.
